Principle of the ECOGAS dark infrared radiant tube
The principle of the ECOGAS radiant tube consists in heating a special steel tube referred to as the emitter tube, through the combustion products of a natural gas or propane burner.
The tube is heated to between 250 and 590 °C.
The tube remains dark, since the radiation is emitted in the dark infrared that is invisible to the human eye.
A reflector fitted on top of it directs this infrared radiation to the floor, towards the area to be heated, like a lamp shade does for fluorescent tube lighting.
A natural gas or propane fired burner generates a flame in a special steel tube.
Combustion products are aspired by an extractor fan that sends them into the premises, if the air renewal rate is sufficient, or to the outside via an evacuation pipe.
The U-shape of the tube and the burner design enable to achieve a uniform average tube temperature and guarantee homogenous radiation emission.
In its ECO SILENT version, the burner also enables to achieve very low noise combustion with a higher yield rate.
Reflector design is of utmost importance.
At this level, heat losses should be limited as much as possible.
To this end, high yield version appliances are sealed at their ends.
The reflector may be in galvanized steel, aluminium or in mirror polished Aisi 430 stainless steel.
The reflection rate is optimal with mirror polished Aisi 430 stainless steel that also keeps best all its performance characteristics with time.
Heat transfer through radiation onto the floor surfaces proceeds without energy loss, since the radiation does not heat the air through which it transits.
It only changes into warmth when it is captured and absorbed by a body or an object.
The ECOGAS radiant tube produces the heat at the place of use, thus eliminating distribution losses inherent to traditional centralized heating systems.
